Join the Vet Direct Recycling scheme to recycle soft & mixed plastics, medicinal plastics and blister packs in your practice. 


Launching in January 2025 there are two bins to choose from.

  • Non contaminated dry fluid bags (with ports cut off)

How does it work?

 

  1. Order your chosen box from the Vet Direct 
  2. The box will arrive at your practice
  3. Fill your box with clean, dry, uncontaminated packaging
  4. When it's full, close it up and email or call to arrange collection
  5. Order your replacement box from Vet Direct.


How big are the boxes?

Each box is a 90L box. Footprint: 38 x 38 x 72 cm

Top Tips


Place small collection bins close to your consult rooms and dispensary to easily separate your recycling

boxes arrive flat packed, watch out for a video showing to help you put your first one together

Fold and tie up plastic packaging as small as possible to fit as much in as you can. 
By ordering the Vet Direct Recycling Boxes, the practice agrees to the following:
  • All waste will be clean, dry and not contaminated with pharmaceuticals or clinical waste.
  • Timed collections will allow +/- 1 day
  • Boxes heavier than 20kg will incur an additional £25 per box
  • If the collection does not happen when the courier arrives to collect the box there will be an additional £15 missed collection box charge.
  • Damaged, leaking or unsealed boxes will not be collected and a missed collection box charge of £15 invoiced.
  • Any collection cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance to the telephone number on the box.
  • The practice agrees to take responsibility if damage occurs whilst loading the box.
  • If reloading or cleaning is required due to your box in transit to the recycling plant a cleaning and/or reloading charge of £100 per hour will be charged.
  • If manual unloading at the recycling plant occurs due to your box on the load, a manual unloading fee of £200 p/h will be charged
